MEET OUR ATTORNEYS

Sean Murrell, Esq.

I decided to follow my father’s footsteps into the practice of law later in my life, after graduating from the University of Miami with a BBA in Computer Information Systems and then teaching math and computers at a private middle-school in South Florida.  I attended Florida Coastal School of Law in 2007, which my wife and I largely chose because we had an interest in settling down in the Jacksonville area.  I had a wonderful slate of professors at Coastal who provided me the analytical skills necessary for a lawyer to bring value to their clients.  I worked hard in law school, earning Dean’s Honors in every semester and graduating Magna Cum Laude with an 11th class-ranking.

Hanging my own shingle out of school, I stumbled into the association law practice area and immediately took a liking to it.  While I have years of experience in other civil litigation areas such as family law, landlord/tenant and contract work, I was drawn to real-property law and the intricacies of associated communities. While many firms advertise as practicing HOA/Condo law, it is truly a niche area that requires continual focus because the law is in a continual state of flux.  This practice area has become a true passion of mine and makes up a significant percentage of our firm’s clients.  We have also developed a hard money-lending wing of the firm, where we represent hard-money lenders in conducting due diligence reviews and drafting the loan documents. Real-property is a fascinating area of law and has become my primary focus.

I pride myself and our firm on being client-driven. We like to break down the wall between attorney and client and function more as a problem solver unless an adversarial posture is required.  I have significant experience on the courtroom floor, but I look at trial as only an avenue of last resort.  Almost uniformly, there are out-of-court remedies to exhaust before you push matters to litigation.  We not only are more cost-effective than most of our competitors, we take just pride in the quality of service we provide to our clients and our open communication with easy access to the firm’s attorneys.  Thank you for visiting our site and for your consideration.

Originally from Ohio, I grew up in the Dayton area eventually graduating from The Ohio State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science and a Minor in Business. After attending Ohio State, I moved to Jacksonville, Florida to attend law school and pursue a career practicing law. The versatility that a juris doctor degree provided is what I found most attractive. I earned my Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2015 graduating Cum Laude. During my time at Florida Coastal, I interned with Murrell Law not knowing I would be joining the firm full time almost a decade later. I have been admitted to practice law in Florida State Courts since 2015.

As I previously worked in-house for both a large healthcare system as well as a publicly traded IT company, I provide extensive experience in contract and transactional law. I have been with Murrell Law for 2+ years further developing my skills and expertise in HOA/Condo law, contract law, civil litigation and hard money lending. Working at Murrell Law has ignited a passion for practicing law in areas that I never imagined.
